Former Steeler great Bill Dudley passes awayFootball Betting Lines02/04/2010 - Pittsburgh, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Bill Dudley passed away after a short illness at his home in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was 88. The Hall of Famer was drafted by the Steelers with the top overall pick in 1942 and led the league in rushing that season. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II piloting B-25s and B-29s and returned to play with four games left in the 1945 season. In the 1946 season, he garnered the MVP award, as he led the league in rushing, interceptions and punting. Dudley went on to play for the Detroit Lions from 1947-49 and the Washington Redskins from 1950-51 and 1953. In 1966, he became part of the fourth class to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
