Kisner takes lead in Panama

Golf Betting Lines

02/26/2010 - Panama City, Panama (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Kisner fired a six-under 64 Friday to take a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the Panama Claro Championship.

Kisner, who is in his first full season on the Nationwide Tour, completed 36 holes at nine-under-par 131.

Scott Dunlap, one of six first-round leaders, posted a three-under 67 and shares second place with Fran Quinn and Julio Zapata. Quinn and Zapata both shot 66 Friday to get to minus-eight.

Six more players are tied for fifth at seven-under-par 133.

The first round was completed Friday morning. Five players had to complete their opening rounds after play was halted by darkness on Thursday at Panama Golf Club.

Kisner got off to a flying start as he birdied each of the first three holes to jump to six-under. After making par on the par-five fourth, he birdied the fifth.

The 26-year-old started another run of three consecutive birdies at the seventh. That run gave him the lead at 10-under and the 59 watch was on.

"You know, 59 came into my head on nine green," Kisner admitted. "I said 'this is a par-70,' but then I figured I shouldn't be thinking about that anymore."

However, around the turn, he settle down with five straight pars. Kisner moved to 11-under with a birdie on the par-four 15th, but trouble loomed.

Like his round on Thursday, Kisner posted a pair of late bogeys, this time at 16 and 18. His lead dropped from three to one, but he still owned his first 36-hole lead on the Nationwide Tour.

"Everything was perfect. Every number was good. I was hitting it close and making some putts," Kisner stated. "It seemed easy on the front. I was just playing. I was having a blast."

Dunlap, the 2008 champion, had two birdies on both nines to go with a bogey on the second, his 11th.

"I made it easy on myself. I just hit two bad short irons in the middle of the round when I got a little tired and it cost me a dropped shot," Dunlap said. "Those are the shots you're thinking you should get within 10 feet and I'm missing the greens."

Marco Dawson (67), Luke List (67), Brian Smock (67), Jonas Blixt (65), Scott Brown (68) and Mark Anderson (64) share fifth place.

NOTES: Miguel Carballo, the 2007 champion, is tied for 21st at minus- four...The cut fell at one-under-par 139 with 62 players moving on to the weekend...The season's first two winners -- Bobby Gates and Jim Herman -- both missed the cut...Peter Gustafsson, one of the six first round leaders, stumbled to a seven-over 77 and missed the cut by three strokes.
